Puppet Theatre Show!
“While God Was Sleeping”
We made it all happen!
A mystery show about the birth of Jesus, traditionally performed by the Ukrainian people at Christmas time. Through singing, reciting poems, and dancing on Christmas Eve, they walk through the neighbourhoods, reminding people about values such as hope and altruism.
You may not know this tradition, but don’t worry, in our show we use the universal languages of movement, music and theatre. You’ll recognise the Christmas figures in the Ukrainian-style puppets.
The story reflects on the symbols of hope, security and unity. You’ll hear Portuguese carols, which will bring you closer to the magic of Christmas.
It’s a perfect event for families and people of all ages to have fun and feel closer during this special time of year.
