Christopher Mark Jones’ music draws influences from folk, country, blues, jazz and r’n’b. Using different points of view to narrate life and love in uncertain times, he invites the listener to think, feel and dance. In his music you can hear echoes of Greg Brown, Lyle Lovett, John Prine, Bruce Coburn and Darrell Scott.
Between his career as a basketball player and French teacher, Jones has performed in various European cities, small venues in New England and Pittsburgh, among others. “Looking for the Light” (2021) is his sixth record of original folk songs, while “Montréal Encore (2022) is a French-language disc made in collaboration with poet Bernard Pozier.
