Synopsis: 1907. Afonso starts life again on a tropical African island as a plantation doctor, where he has to cure a group of servants ‘infected’ by Banzo, the nostalgia of the enslaved. They die by the dozen, from starvation or suicide. For fear of contagion, the group is sent to a rainy hill, surrounded by forest. There, Afonso tries to cure the servants, but their inability to understand what is going on in their souls proves to be stronger than all the solutions.
