The CAE Arts School Jazz Orchestra (OJEAC) was founded in October 2013, on the initiative of the Arts School, with the aim of creating an orchestra dedicated to jazz and its language. It had its first concert in April 2014 and, since then, has been developing its work with various national artists and, solo, with its own singers, in local, regional and national events.
This is the first in a series of concerts by the OJEAC, as part of the Café Concerto | After Movie, which aims to make their diverse repertoire known to the general public.
The orchestra will be on stage with about 20 musicians, accompanied by guest singer Sofia Cavaleiro, in a repertoire that shows the diversity, evolution and language of jazz in a chronological line of the 20th century. “In the Mood”, “Night Train”, “Cheek to Cheek” or “Garota de Ipanema” are some of the themes that will be interpreted.
